Course II: Principles of Risk Managment for Nanoscale Materials
Principles of Risk Management for Nanoscale Materials will address health and environmental risks of nanotechnology. This course will be a junior/senior level course.
After completing this course, students will be able to understand:
- The health and environmental risks of nanotechnology,
- How to work in a group and conduct systematic research to write a group-based term paper on case studies and/or research topic, and
- Approaches to assessing life-cycle risk assessment of nanotechnology.
If offered as a full course then this course will meet ABET student-learning outcomes:
(a) An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering;
(d) An ability to function on multidisciplinary teams;
(i) A recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in, life-long learning.
Please, refer each module syllabus to know goal, objectives, student learning outcomes, and ABET outcomes pertaining to that particular module.
